Looking for a volunteer opportunity with built in hugs and smiles? Volunteer to be a Reading Buddy to a kindergarten or 1st grade student and the hugs are sure to come. As a Reading Buddy you will spend about an hour, 1-2 times per week, reading with a student that is struggling to keep pace with their classmates. Research shows that kids who struggle to read early, continue to lag behind their peers. It's critical to their future success to improve their reading ability as quickly as possible. One of the best ways to do that is to have them read to an adult as frequently as possible. You can make a difference!
