On May 15, over 325 volunteers came together to package 48,000 servings (16,000 bags) of healthy trail mix at United Way Emerging Leaders "Smack Hunger" event. By partnering with the Marathon County Hunger Coalition, the bags of trail mix were quickly distributed to community and school-based food pantries and backpack programs throughout Marathon County – from Spencer to Hatley and just about everywhere in between. These healthy snacks will benefit children and adults in our community who struggle with food insecurity.
