United Way Ready to Read program has 5 (soon to be 7) Community Bookshelves at various locations. The goal of the Community Bookshelves is to increase the access to books in homes with children. Having ready access to books is crucial in a child's learning to read and loving to read. You can help! Bring gently used children's books to the United Way office at 705 S. 24th Avenue, Wausau, during regular business hours and they will be delivered to the family serving agencies where we have bookshelves. Last year over 10,000 books were collected and distributed. Board books, pre-school books, easy readers and chapter books for youth are always in high demand. Your help in keeping the bookshelves stocked is very much appreciated.
The easiest way to make a difference.
