Making the Holidays Merry for Everyone

holidayhelp.jpgMarathon County has many local programs available to help residents on a limited income during the holiday season. United Way’s 211 can help to locate programs that offer holiday meals, winter clothing, and gifts for children under the age of 18.
 
Thanksgiving Meals are available on November 28 at several locations. First Presbyterian Church, 406 Grant Street, will serve at 1:00 p.m. Delivery is available to Wausau and Town of Rib Mountain residents. Make reservations by calling 715-302-2832.  
 
St, Mary's School in Marathon City is serving from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with delivery available to Marathon City residents. Make reservations by calling 715-443-3124.
 
Several local churches will be serving meals on December 25. Saint Paul United Church of Christ, 426 Washington St., will be serving at noon. Please call 715-845-2200 for reservations or carry-out meals. Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, 1806 Weston Ave., Schofield, will be serving from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with delivery to Wausau and DC Everest area residents. Call 715-359-6467 for reservations. 
 
Winter Clothing is available at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 503 S. Schmidt Ave., Rothschild. Call 715-359-4500, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for a private appointment.

Saint Mark Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Dr., Wausau, wil be distributing Holiday gifts on  Friday, December 6 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
