When disaster strikes, members of the community want to help and United Way can help! When a large scale disaster in our community, volunteers must be interviewed, screened and matched with a volunteer job that fits their abilities. Organizing these volunteers is critical in a disaster recovery effort and you can help. On Wednesday, March 25, United Way Volunteer Connection, along with Marathon County Emergency Government and United Way RSVP will be hosting a Volunteer Reception Center Training. This two hour training program, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. will give you the tools you will need to assist in the event we experience a large scale disaster. The training is free, but space is limited. Register by calling United Way Volunteer Connection at 715-298-5719 or by emailing Krista at kmischo@unitedwaymc.org.
