Julie Bliss, is the Vice President Community Impact for United Way of Marathon County. Julie has been a volunteer with United Way since 2008 and began volunteering as a Candy Striper at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota when she was 13 years old. She works for UnitedHealth Group and has lived in Wausau for nearly 27 years. Julie and her husband Jim, along with her Golden Retriever, Walter, have two adult children; Reid (27) who lives in Minneapolis and Charlotte (24) who lives in Chicago.
Julie’s parents and grandparents volunteered with many organizations and were terrific role models. They taught her compassion, generosity and the importance of being involved in your community. She is also a member of Impact100 Greater Wausau, St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church and Junior Achievement Champions of Business. When asked to share one interesting fact about her that you may not know, she said, “I’m fascinated with family genealogy! Everyone has an interesting story behind their name.”
