The Future Looks Bright

We embark on the new year with gratitude for the past year and optimism for the future.  Our donors showed strong support for addressing community needs through the 2021 campaign.  We sincerely thank you for your generosity.  Now, we are in the process of soliciting input from various stakeholders, donors, partner programs, business leaders, and other community members – to ensure that we continue to make a positive impact on Marathon County in the future.  While the community-wide survey is completed, it was an initial step in the strategic planning process.  The United Way Board of Directors and staff will commit significant time and effort to develop a thoughtful and impactful strategic plan over the course of the year.  We are excited to continue collaborating with all of you for the long-term success of our community.

211 Day

A big thank you to the 211 team members who helped thousands of people connect with essential services. In a crisis, in a disaster, in a pandemic, 211 is here to help every person in our community get connected to available resources for finding food, paying housing bills and connecting to other essential services. In 2021, 211 fielded more than 14,000 requests for help. Most of those requests weren’t answered by technology, but real people who are part of the 211 network. That means from the first hello, someone in crisis is reaching a real person who can provide a connection to help. Join us on February 11, 211 Day, and share information about this vital service in our community, thank the local 211 team members providing hope and help every day, and donate to United Way to make sure this resource continues in central Wisconsin.

Thank You!

Dawn Krueger has spent more than 6 years volunteering in Emerging Leaders' Career Closet. She has helped build the closet to what it is today--sorting, mending, and organizing clothes, training volunteers, tracking traffic, and developing procedures to streamline processes. She found great joy in helping women pick out outfits and accessorize for upcoming interviews. Recently she celebrated her last day and trained a new volunteer, Deb Morrin. THANK YOU for your volunteer service!
