Location:
United Way of Marathon County Community Closet – 705 S. 24th Ave, Suite 440, Wausau, WI 54403
What You'll Do:
Join us for a hands-on volunteer experience that’s perfect for workplace teams, civic groups, or friends looking to give back together! During your time at the Community Closet, you’ll:
Take a brief tour to learn how the Closet serves our community.
Sort and organize donated clothing for all ages and occasions.
Pitch in on additional projects as needed to keep the space clean, welcoming, and dignified for shoppers.
Why It Matters:
Every clothing item you sort or hang up is a step toward helping a neighbor stretch their budget a little further. By providing free clothing, the Community Closet allows families to direct their limited resources toward essentials like housing, childcare, and groceries. You’ll be directly supporting United Way’s bold goal of lifting 10,000 families to financial stability by 2033—and you’ll have fun doing it!
What to Expect:
Light lifting will be required, but please let us know if you need any accomodations.
Who Can Volunteer?
Individuals, families, and groups are welcome! Volunteers must be 18 or older; youth ages 12–17 may participate alongside a parent or guardian.
