Be Ready to Lead When Disaster Strikes

Disasters can happen anywhere, at any time. From tornadoes and wildfires to unexpected local emergencies, communities rely on volunteers to step up in the aftermath. But without coordination, even the best intentions can create challenges instead of solutions.

In partnership with Marathon County Emergency Management, United Way of Marathon County is hosting a FREE Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) Training to prepare community members to manage and mobilize volunteers effectively in times of crisis.

Date: Tuesday, April 29
Time: 9:00 - 11:00 AM
Location: Marathon County Emergency Management, 1000 Lake View Dr., Wausau, WI 54403
Breakfast refreshments provided
Limited seating – register now

During this hands-on training, participants will:

  • Learn how spontaneous volunteers are screened and processed in a disaster
  • Participate in a mock disaster exercise to practice key VRC roles
  • Be invited to join the Marathon County VRC team to help lead response efforts if a disaster occurs

Be prepared to make a real impact when your community needs you most.
