About Power of the Purse

Power of the Purse is Women United’s signature fundraising event benefiting United Way of Marathon County’s Bold Goal to lift 10,000 community members to financial stability by 2033.

The evening brings together women who care deeply about our community and believe that generosity can make a real difference locally. While Power of the Purse has a glamorous feel, its heart is rooted in philanthropy, connection, and shared purpose.

All proceeds from the event support United Way of Marathon County’s work to strengthen stability and opportunity for families across our community, including access to safe housing, quality childcare, and job readiness.

What to Expect

  • A lively, social evening with other community-minded women

  • Curated auction and raffle packages, including designer handbags, health and wellness offerings, local experiences, and more

  • Meaningful opportunities to support local impact in an engaging, accessible way

  • A welcoming atmosphere that balances celebration with purpose

Want to Do More?

In addition to attending, there are opportunities to deepen your involvement through event sponsorship or auction and raffle donations. These contributions play a critical role in the success of Power of the Purse and help amplify its impact.

Details on sponsorships and donation opportunities are available separately.
