Volunteer Opportunity: The Great Carrot Harvest
Support local food pantries with fresh, healthy produce.

Date: Wednesday, September 16 | 2:00 – 5:00 PM

Location: Red Door Family Farm, Athens, WI

Opportunity Details:
Join us as we head out to Red Door Family Farm for our annual carrot harvest, hosted by United Way’s Hunger Coalition! Volunteers will spend the afternoon pulling, washing, and bagging thousands of pounds of carrots that will be brought back for distribution through local food pantries.

This is a hands-on, outdoor volunteer opportunity. Volunteers should be comfortable working outside and handling produce. Your time and effort will directly support food access for families in our community.

What to Know:

  • This is a rain or shine event - please dress for the weather.

  • Volunteers must be 18 or older, or age 12+ with a parent or guardian.

  • Wear clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty.

  • Gloves are recommended.

  • Water and restroom access will be available on site.

  • Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation.

  • The harvest date is limited to 15 volunteers.

This opportunity is perfect for individuals, families, or small teams who want to make a tangible impact in just a few hours.
