One of United Way's goals is to help seniors live independently. Wausau Area Mobile Meals is one of our funded partners and provides a vital service to help us reach that goal. Each day Wausau Area Mobile Meals volunteers deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors in our community. They also provide a reassuring "check-in" for many seniors and their families. On occasion, they are the first to realize that someone is in need of help. Recently one local resident, 101 years young, moved to an assisted living facility, but shared that having delicious meals delivered by caring volunteers had been key to her living alone for as long as possible.
