Tocqueville Award Presented to John & Nancy Skoug

Skoug Award photo.jpgOver 200 Summit League members gathered at the Greenheck Innovation Center on November 15 to honor John & Nancy Skoug, the 2015 Tocqueville Award Recipients.  The Tocqueville Award is presented to individuals who have shown their support of United Way of Marathon County with personal gifts over an extended period of time, as well as support through volunteer leadership roles.  John Skoug served in various volunteer positions, including two terms on the board of directors from 1989 to 1995.  He was named the Volunteer of the Year in 1993.  Mr. Skoug said the he was extremely honored and very humbled by the recognition in a community where there are so many generous people.  John currently serves as the CEO of Marathon Cheese, and was instrumental in growing the employee campaign for the organization.  As one of United Way's top giving accounts, Marathon Cheese and their employees have raised over $1.2 million since 2002.  Read more about United Way Summit League on our website.
