Your Gift Makes a Difference

Jackie does her best to set a good example for her young daughter, Macy. She works a full time job but as a single parent she struggles to make ends meet. She often has to juggle bills and sometimes their meals are limited to mac & cheese or Ramen. Because of her full time job, Jackie does not qualify for most programs that could provide financial assistance. One day, her childcare provider suggested that she apply for a GoodStart Grant through Childcaring, a United Way funded program.

When Jackie received her GoodStart Grant, she was able to use the money saved on childcare to buy groceries and pay other bills. The grant made the difference for Jackie. She is now able to save a few dollars every week for an emergency and still provide for her daughter's needs.
