COVID-19 Updates

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, United Way of Marathon County has partnered with the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin to create the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. This fund will bring essential resources and aid to our neighbor’s in need. Early response from our community has been tremendous and funds have already gone out to local non-profits. We encourage everyone to consider supporting this fund with a gift.  As a community, it is during times like this, that we need to come together to look out for those who are most vulnerable among us. We also know that the impacts of this crisis will not be short-term but be will have long lasting effects on families in Marathon County.  The Community Foundation will cover all administrative fees so 100% of your donation supports our local nonprofits. We can’t do it without your support. To donate click here.

As of Friday, March 27, 2020, $51,000 has been invested to eight local nonprofits.  Click here for complete list of nonprofits.

We understand the COVID-19 outbreak is impacting nonprofits in many ways, including increased demand for their services, lost revenue due to closures and cancelations, as well as other challenges. We are working closely with partners and the nonprofit community to ensure that the grants awarded meet the greatest needs in communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
