Thank you

COVID-19 Community Response Fund officially closes after granting over $632,000 in Marathon County. When the outbreak started to impact our area back in March, our organization knew right away that this was a time for our community to band together. We knew the crisis would have many short and long-term effects, and we are thankful to have served a role in offering hope and aid to those in a time of need. Working in partnership, the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin and United Way of Marathon County dedicated their efforts to raising and dispersing funds to meet the needs in our community as efficiently as possible. Thank you to each and every donor who committed to this community and the pandemic response.

ALICE Report

United Way of Marathon County uses data, including the Wisconsin ALICE Report, to determine community needs and make investment decisions. ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. ALICE households earn more than the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), but less than the state’s basic cost of living. The report calls this the ALICE Threshold. In total, 600,626 of Wisconsin households (~26%) are ALICE, while another 271,935 (~12%) earn below the FPL. Thirty-eight percent of Wisconsin’s 2.3 million households struggle to afford basic needs like housing, childcare, food and transportation. We support evidence based programs with measurable outcomes so you can have confidence in your investment in United Way.
